Goal
April is a month of remembrance.
But remembrance is not only about looking back. It is also about what we choose to do now. We are currently raising $2,500 to complete a bathroom renovation for Karmen’s family in Sisian, Armenia.
When we first met Karmen’s family, her husband was still alive. He had been severely wounded in the 2020 Artsakh war, sustaining multiple injuries that left him permanently wheelchair bound, non-verbal and in need of full-time care.
After six years of living with serious injuries, he passed last month.
Karmen is now navigating this loss while continuing to care for their three children. The family is in need of a bathroom that is clean, functional and safe.
Although her husband fought in Artsakh, the family does not qualify for most government or humanitarian assistance. Karmen, a kindergarten teacher and the sole provider for her family, is doing everything in her power to address the financial pressures facing her family. Unfortunately, many aid programs are limited to displaced families, leaving households like Karmen's one without support despite significant need. This is a gap our Renovation Initiative can address.
With your support, we will build a safe, accessible, and functional bathroom that restores basic living conditions and lightens the pressures of daily life.
The total cost of this project is approximately $5,000. Thanks to the generous support of Sarkissian Law Group, all donations will be matched. This means we are raising $2,500 from our community to fully fund this renovation.
We will manage the project from start to finish, working with local labor and documenting every step so you can see exactly where your support goes.
If you have been looking for a meaningful way to honor Armenian people this season, building a bathroom is a tangible need that can be delivered through community support.
