Goal

A New Way to Help Vietnam Veterans Heal

Do you have a loved one, a neighbor, or a friend who served during the Vietnam era?

For many families, the impact of that war has continued to echo quietly across generations. Countless veterans returned home carrying burdens they were never given the chance to lay down, often without recognition, without welcome, and without the care they deserved.

Many of these men and women went on to build lives, raise families, and contribute to their communities while still holding memories that remained unbearably heavy. Some rarely speak about their service. Others have shared stories only to be misunderstood, dismissed, or met with painful stigma. And many continue to suffer in silence.

Today, we have an opportunity to show them the dignity, care, and honor they should have received decades ago.

By supporting this initiative, you can help bring long-overdue healing to a generation of veterans who served our country during one of the most turbulent chapters in American history. Your contribution directly expands access to the kind of support that these veterans were never offered and urgently need now.

Please consider donating to this effort to uplift an often unseen generation of veterans while we still can.

The Initiative

More than 50 years have passed since the Vietnam War ended, yet the struggle continues for many of the war’s veterans. Some are unsheltered, many are suffering in silence, and others are dying.

Two recent studies of Vietnam War veterans conducted by Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health reveal that veterans still face significant psychological and physical health challenges all these years after their combat experience. Sadly, the findings show that PTSD (unknown at the time of the Vietnam War) and combat experience are strongly linked to cardiovascular disease and chronic illnesses, as well as ongoing psychological issues.

Furthermore, the VA now categorizes a multitude of cancers and other health issues related to exposure to Agent Orange, a poisonous defoliant containing dioxin that was used by the U.S. to help clear the jungle.

This initiative is designed to raise at least $35,000 to support Vietnam veterans seeking healing from their war trauma.

Why It Matters

Heroic Hearts Project (HHP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping veterans and their families heal from PTSD and other military trauma using research-backed psychedelic treatments. Through carefully designed programs that include preparation, psychedelic-assisted retreats, and post-retreat integration support, HHP provides a safe, structured, and supportive pathway for veterans to address the impacts of what they’ve been through as a result of serving this country.

Beyond the retreat experience, HHP offers community-based support, education, coaching, and family programs that empower veterans and their loved ones to continue healing long after the program ends. Spouses and partners also receive dedicated resources, guidance, and retreats, as family wellbeing is essential to sustained recovery.

HHP is equally committed to advancing research and driving policy change. Through partnerships with leading universities and advocacy efforts in Washington, HHP is helping shape the future of veteran mental health care, working to ensure that effective, evidence-based psychedelic treatments can be integrated into systems like the VA, where veterans already receive care.

Your contribution directly helps expand access to these services, ensuring that veterans who are ready for support can receive expert guidance, a caring community, and the tools they need to move forward with strength and clarity.
