I am working with BRASA to raise funds for its scholarship program, "Programa de Bolsas". BRASA's Scholarship Program is a lifeline for Brazilian students aspiring to attend some of the top universities in the United States and Europe. Thanks to the program, students have been able to pursue their college education at prestigious institutions such as Stanford, Harvard, Dartmouth, Columbia, Duke, Penn, Brown, and many others. The scholarship commits to funding students' education throughout their entire college careers, ensuring they can focus on their studies without financial worries. 

My journey with BRASA began in 2016 when I joined their university application program as a mentee. I experienced firsthand the dedication and support the organization provides. Thanks to their unwavering support and guidance on navigating the college application process as an international student, I was able to attend the University of Chicago.

Having received financial aid myself, I know how life changing scholarships can be. It lifts the heavy burden from students and families, allowing students to focus on their education and opening doors to opportunities that would otherwise would be out of reach.

About BRASA

BRASA (Brazilian Student Association) is a global network of Brazilian students studying abroad. We are dedicated to fostering a strong community, providing resources, and creating opportunities for our members to excel. Since our founding, we have connected thousands of students through mentorship programs, conferences, and career support initiatives.

Many talented and ambitious Brazilian students face significant financial barriers to accessing quality education abroad. Scholarships provide these students with the opportunity to attend prestigious universities, gain invaluable experiences, and bring their skills and knowledge back to Brazil. By funding scholarships, you are investing in the future leaders of Brazil.

Our scholarship, founded in 2018, is now in its sixth generation. We are proud to help 46 incredible students to continue with their dreams and goals, with 45% of them being women, 42% being people of color and having representatives from all 5 regions of Brazil. 

Student Success Stories

Meet Luiza Vilanova, a BRASA Fellow at Columbia University.

Luiza founded Gotinhas do Bem, a project that was essential for developing socio-emotional skills in public schools through playful themes. The organization impacts more than 8,000 people in 15 states and 7 other countries. With support from BRASA, Luiza was able to finish her Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy and Global Health at Columbia University.
