Boston Fundraiser to Benefit 

Brandon Mancilla, Candidate for UAW 9A Regional Director

Join UAW Regional Director Candidate Brandon Mancilla and the Brandon for 9A team for a  fundraiser near Boston on Saturday, September 24! Brandon is running for Regional Director of the United Auto Workers (UAW) in Region 9A, which includes parts of New York, New England, and Puerto Rico. In addition to buying fun items offered by your fellow workers, you’ll have a chance to meet Brandon, learn about his platform, and ask questions about this election! After the event, we’ll walk together to a nearby pub for a pint!

The venue for this event is The Democracy Center in Cambridge, MA. Proof of vaccination and masking indoors are required; masks must be worn over your nose and mouth at all times when inside. 

Venue Accessibility: The Democracy Center is partially wheelchair accessible, on site bathroom is not ADA compliant. The Mandela, Parks, and Chavez rooms are accessible, but the Library is not. Wheelchair users are welcome to use the accessible restroom at Daedalus while we plan our improvements for bathroom accessibility. To reach that bathroom, exit the ramp and turn left on Bow St, at the next building (Daedalus) use their accessible entrance and their restroom will be on the right. About Brandon…

Brandon Mancilla was born into a working-class immigrant family in New York City. His dad, to this day, is a proud member of 32BJ SEIU in New York City. After starting his PhD Program in History at Harvard University, he joined the Harvard Graduate Students Union-UAW Local 5118's organizing committee. He was on the strike coordinating team during the 29-day long strike of 2019. After HGSU reached its first contract in 2020, Brandon was elected the local's first ever president. Since stepping down from the presidency, Brandon has been working as an organizer for UAW 2325 - the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys in New York. He is now running as a candidate for UAW Region 9A Director.
