It's not always easy to find inclusive books and some are not aware they even exist. 

One thing is clear, making books accessible to everyone in which every child get's to play the lead character is crucial for a healthy upbringing. Thanks for your contribution!

Being parents with toddlers, we have each realised how our children react to not seing themselves represented in the books they read and what effect this may have on their self-perception. This is important for every child's social and cultural awareness, level of empathy and self-confidence. 

Books By Ani is created with soo much love for our families but at the same time we realise that we need to do something about this out-dated publishing industry that does not adequately reflect the society we live in at all. 

What kind of world would we live in if every carer, school, organisation would have easy access to more books where under-represented characters get to play the lead protagonists...
