Goal
Our vision is a world where children and young people celebrate, respect and accept ALL bodies – especially their own.
More than half of children and young people feel bad about their bodies. This is impacting student wellbeing, engagement in learning and educational outcomes. Despite body image being part of statutory education, schools and caregivers often lack the training, support and systemic understanding to meaningfully address the issue.
This is where the Body Happy Schools programme comes in.
The Body Happy Schools Programme builds classroom cultures of body respect, with a pioneering whole school approach that includes staff training, student workshops and assemblies, support for parents and caregivers, educational resources and a peer advocacy programme. It's the first of its kind in the UK and is being developed with support from The Fair Education Alliance and The University of Lincoln.
We need your help to raise £60,000 to expand and develop the programme so we can reach more children and young people, and subsidise access for schools where 50% or more of their pupils are eligible for free school meals.
