bobu began with a simple yet powerful idea: safety should be visible, accessible and free from fear or judgment.

It all started when a close friend of ours was attacked in a homophobic incident. Though he managed to escape, he was left with nowhere to turn, no signs of safety, no visible spaces offering support. That moment changed everything for us. No one should ever be left searching for safety.

What began as a solution for the LGBTQ+ community has since grown into something much larger: a movement to ensure that everyone feels safe, seen and supported. No matter who they are or where they go.

At bobu, we’re reimagining safety, not just as protection, but as something you can see, feel and rely on. 

Through our bobu-certified spaces, we make safety visible. Our app connects people to venues and businesses, giving them instant access to safe, trusted spaces. And through our workshops and advocacy, we’re breaking the stigma around asking for help, turning it from a sign of weakness to one of courage.
