Sea-Worthy Shellebrity Joe Almeida

Joe Almeida | Joey's Custard

Moving to Sanibel in 1998 from Buffalo, NY, Joe attended the Sanibel School from K-8, then moved on to Bishop Verot High School. After graduation, (and being class President),  Joe joined the Military and spent two years in South Korea. Afterwards he moved to Buffalo and worked in many levels for Olive Garden there. In 2016, Joe and his mother Debi Almeida purchased Zebra Yogurt and gave it a new name;  Joey’s Custard and an entirely new menu! As a youth Joe worked for his family in an Italian Restaurant in Fort Myers. Joe has two brothers; Mario and Mike who work on Captiva and a sister in Denver who is a chiropractor. He enjoys playing basketball, is an avid football fan and it is hard to visit Joey’s Custard and not see him behind the counter.  He is loved by both locals and tourists alike and always makes time to chat up with his customers. Come and support Joey!!!
