Goal

Huffin' and Puffin'

Hello!

Our team, Huffin' and Puffin', is participating in this year's Birdathon, hosted by the Northern Virginia Bird Alliance (NVBA). Our goal is to raise funds before going out for 24 hours on April 26th to identify and record as many bird species as we can.

Birdathon helps NVBA to support outdoor education, citizen science, habitat conservation and programs to encourage people to plant native plants and protect native wildlife. Birdathon also helps ornithologists better understand spring migration by reporting sightings through eBird, an online database of bird observations run by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

With this being our first time participating in Birdathon, it is our goal to raise $300 and log 60 species within the 24-hour period. (We met our original $100 goal in less than a day, so we had to up it! And then we met our $250 goal, so we upped it again!)
