Support the Development of a Computer Library in Liberia

Summary

Brighter Initiatives for Revitalization and Development (BIRD-Liberia) is a nonprofit nongovernmental organization located in Gardnersville, Liberia. The mission of BIRD-Liberia is to end maternal, infant and child death or crises. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, BIRD-Liberia is committed to improving reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) and providing essential education to Liberians.

Challenge

90% of the Chicken Soup Factory community members do not have access to or adequate knowledge of computer technology. This presents significant challenges to the sustenance and economic progress of the people in this community. Anike Foundation funded BIRD-Liberia in 2019 for a computer training project. This is a follow-on project to create a computer library for the local Chicken Soup Factory community. 

Solution

The proposal is to purchase necessary equipment and materials for the computer library and hire a skilled facilitator. Additionally, the Chicken Soup Factory community would benefit from on-the-job trainings for administrative and operational capacity building.
