Big Sur CERT

Big Sur CERT was established in the aftermath of the 2008 Basin Complex Fire, which underscored how essential local readiness is in a region that can be isolated for days during major emergencies. Today, Big Sur CERT continues that mission by training and equipping volunteers to support their neighbors when outside assistance may be delayed.

Our team provides light search and rescue, disaster medical support, traffic and scene control, community wellness checks, and essential resupply during storms, road closures, wildfires, and power outages. We also offer regular CERT courses and hands-on training sessions to ensure volunteers are prepared for the unique challenges of living in a high-risk, geographically isolated area.

Your tax-deductible donation through CERV directly strengthens this work. It helps fund training, equipment, multilingual preparedness outreach, and the local capacity needed to keep Big Sur residents safer during emergencies. Your support makes a real difference in the resilience of this community.
