Goal
The Big Sky Chapter of SWMMBA, also known as The Trail Dogs, was established in 2020 to provide strong local leadership and advocacy for mountain biking within the Big Sky community. The Trail Dogs focus on maintaining well-loved routes, while simultaneously working hard to build thrilling new flow and tech trails in the Big Sky region.
With over 75 members, a passionate and engaged Board of Directors, and access to hundreds of miles of trail, the Big Sky Chapter plays a key role in nurturing and expanding the mountain biking scene in Southwest Montana.

CURRENT PROJECT: Green Mountain to Meadow
The Green Mountain to Meadow Trail is a 3.5-mile, multi-use family-friendly trail that will enhance connectivity and accessibility for hikers, runners, and mountain bikers of all skill levels in Big Sky. Running parallel to the existing Mountain to Meadow trail, this new route offers a safer, more inclusive alternative—especially for beginners and families. Identified as a priority by SWMMBA Big Sky, this trail fills a critical gap in the trail system between Big Sky Resort and Town Center. and will be built by our friends at TerraFlow Trails!
