Candidates for Texas legislative office may accept donations in any amount from individuals, PACs, and non-corporate entities. Non-corporate entities include law firm designations such as LLP, PC, PLLC, as well as LLC partnerships as long as no traditional corporate entity is a partner in the LLC. No donations may be taken from traditional corporations or labor unions; however, donations from PACs organized by corporations and labor unions are allowed. Donors to a Texas legislative campaign must be US Citizens (either living in the US or elsewhere) or US Green Card holders living in the US. Foreign nationals may not donate.
