Goal
Bringing Hope Back Home is a student-led organization that advocates for equity and accessibility in education. In 2017, founder and Detroit Public Schools District alum, Kemi Dauda wanted to make a positive impact in the Detroit community and bridge the massive education gap between public schools and their higher achieving counterparts. She wanted to provide the support that she wished she was given in high school.
Last April, we launched the Hope Scholarship fund to support high school students beyond high school. We awarded two Detroit high school students with $2,500 each to use towards college expenses. Over the summer, we partnered with a local Michigan school district to provide college preparatory programming.
Bringing Hope Back Home is consistently growing. We support students from beyond the Detroit area. As participation grows, we need to raise additional funds to make sure we can support this growth in participation. This year, we want to raise $1,500 to continue supporting our students.
Join us in supporting Detroit youth!
