When I grow up I want to be...a nurse

Sweet Berlinda joined our home just a few weeks after her baby sister, Jose-Naica, arrived in 2022. When Berlinda first came to the orphanage, she looked quite scared and uncertain. However, it didn't take long for her to start connecting with the other children, and she quickly began to feel at home. Now, Berlinda is free to embrace her childhood years without the worry of where her next meal will come from.

She comes from a challenging background; her mother, who struggles with mental illness, made the difficult decision to give her daughters up for their safety. We hold onto the hope and pray that one day, her mother will be able to care for them again. Until that day comes, we are committed to providing a loving and secure environment for these precious girls.

Berlinda is quiet and reserved, but her smile has the power to melt hearts. She loves running around with the other children, playing and laughing, and she enjoys trying on new outfits that the missionaries bring. She is such a well-behaved little girl, always eager to listen and follow directions. Most of the time she’s a quiet observer, carefully watching everything around her, but she also shows a strong and determined side when she needs to. It’s such a sweet balance of gentleness and strength for someone her age. It’s heartwarming to see her flourish and find joy in her surroundings, and we are grateful to be a part of her journey.
