The Animal Reader is a small independent news platform with daily posts on animal-related issues.

Human activities have led to the extinction of almost 70% of animals since 1970. We believe it’s essential to report on issues affecting animals so that citizens can better judge developments in the world and adjust their behaviour.

Peaceful coexistence between nature, humans, and animals is essential for the wellbeing of our planet.

The Animal Reader needs support to cover more animal-related issues.

Deeply disturbed by the events that unfolded in the recent past. There is continuous abuse of elephants in Sri Lanka, particularly in the name of upholding archaic traditions.
