Greetings Friends of Hope in South Africa!

Make Hope in South Africa (HISA) your Valentine this year! The love you can share surely brings comfort, joy, relief and hope to the children and families of Richmond, South Africa. Your gift from the heart will go a long way toward assisting our efforts to provide quality meals, education, awareness about HIV/AIDS and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome as well as support our efforts to eliminate poverty in Richmond.

This past year has been full of surprises for all of us and created many challenges as we navigated a global pandemic, but through it all we continued to offer children and family services at the Richmond Community Center and neighboring communities. We are only able to continue our work because of your continued belief in making Richmond a better place.

2020 Highlights of Richmond Success

Nutrition: Soup Kitchen - 22,245 meals served

Family Support: COVID Relief Response Outreach - 400 households fed via our mobile soup kitchen

Girls Mentoring: Goals for Girls went virtual - 15 young female leaders trained

Education: Financial Aid Applications - 54 youth assisted financially

Emergency Needs Assistance: 300+ unemployed people aided with applications to benefit from Sassa Relief Fund

Health & Hygiene: Toiletries & sanitary packs distributed to young girls

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder Prevention & Awareness Education: FARR FAStrp 5-day Workshop - 25 community members, including staff, trained

We are forever grateful for your generous spirit and partnerships to spread the love to our youth and their families. However, the need continues to be substantial now as we navigate through the pandemic. 

We ask you to consider contributing and Be HISA's Valentine by sending your love, offering joy, happiness and a warm meal to the children and families whom we serve. They are always grateful and smiling recipients of our combined efforts and programs.
