If you are reading this page it's probably because BBYO has had a profound impact on your life, on the life of someone you know, or you believe in the work that we do. BBYO needs you to get involved in this campaign! BBYO's impact on our members is invaluable, however unless we continue to regularly raise funds our impact is at risk. For this year's Maccabi Fun Run we are targeting at least 50 runners to raise £10,000, which is an average of £200 of donations from friends and family per runner. Will you be one of the 50?
A combination of multiple factors in the last five years, notably the impact of COVID-19, high inflation, and the upcoming national insurance increases, means our resources are stretched thinner than ever, and we URGENTLY need your help.
In 2023 and 2024, BBYO UK raised over £4,000 each year however, for 2025, we have raised our target to £10,000 to help us bridge the gap in our finances.
We are having a profound impact on our members. Many of you, as stakeholders, think of BBYO as being the movement that taught you great leadership skills, gave you friends for life and helped you fulfil your potential. BBYO still does all of that, and more, because If you are one of the 20% of teens with a diagnosed mental health condition, or if you’ve not quite found your sense of belonging socially or as a Jewish teenager, BBYO is what you have been looking for.
The importance of providing safe, Jewish spaces for Jewish teenagers cannot be underestimated. Incidents of antisemitism in the UK have increased exponentially and Jewish teenagers have been affected. BBYO UK are determined to ensure that Jewish teenagers can rely on having a positive experience and are provided with escapism from these issues.
What do our members get up to?
At BBYO UK all of our programming aligns with at least one of our 6 programme themes; Judaism, Israel, Tradition, Leadership, Social Action & Wellbeing. Our mission, through these programming themes, is to ‘build resilient, confident, connected Jewish teens’. We do this by building meaningful Jewish community experiences that inspire, develop, and
empower our teens.
We provide Jewish teens in secondary school, who are looking to find their place in society, with a home. We facilitate their friendship network, and excitement in Jewish life, and give them something to be committed to. With the skills we provide, they can access formal and informal leadership opportunities within our Movement and have the potential to become leaders in the UK Jewish community and wider society.
