Battle Scar: Charity Single
Reno recording veteran, Tom Gordon, is releasing a cover of the song “Battle Scar,” benefitting
the Native Forward Scholars Fund and the Washoe County School District Music Education Department.
The song will be released on all music sales and streaming platforms on November 26th, 2021!

NATIVE FORWARD SCHOLAR FUND
Throughout their 50-year history, Native Forward has empowered over 20,000 students from over 500 Tribes in all 50 states by providing scholarship dollars and support for services for undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees.
Native Forward Scholars Fund is the largest direct scholarship provider to Native students in the U.S. They award approximately $15 million in scholarships annually and have awarded over $350 million since their inception.
WASHOE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT MUSIC PROGRAM
The Washoe County School District Music Program provides students with a critical part of their education. Students who study music are developing critical 21st Century Skills, develop critical thinking, problem solving, and develop the skills to think innovatively, cooperate in groups, and be creative.
Monies raised will help buy music, instruments or supplies for the music classes here in Washoe County, Nevada.
Being a Reno native, and a product of the Washoe County School District music program, Tom wanted WCSD to be one of the recipients of the proceeds to give back to the program he came from. He is also the Recording Arts instructor at the University of Nevada, Reno teaching recording techniques and music industry.
He has been working on his version “Battle Scar” for 13 years enlisting the help of over 70 people in the Northern Nevada area as performers, actors, artist, film crew & promotions. It was recorded at Imirage Sound Lab in Sparks, NV which he now manages.
