Goal
Sandra, Leeann and Tanya, who lost her husband to suicide in 2018, are participating in the Barbarians annual stair-a-thon which is happening on the 7th May (the day before Mother’s day). The Barbarians raise funds to put facilitators into our schools to teach our students from an early age how to build emotional muscle and sign post their families and friends on where to seek help in the event they need to seek guidance for anyone they are concerned about. Unfortunately suicide is something that has touched us personally and is therefore very close to our hearts, our homes and our families as we lost to suicide our dearest friend and husband. We do believe that it could have possibly been prevented if there was more help available to people suffering from depression and for their loved ones to know where to go to seek the help that is needed. Please help us to raise money that will go towards such an important cause. Any donations will be appreciated and come along to cheer us on our time spot is 8am – 9am.
Please like and share this on your social pages to get the awareness out there too. Thank you.
About the Barbarians Stair-a-thon
From 6am to 6pm we will have teams running the stairs at Stirling Bridge in East Fremantle (near the Left Bank, opposite the Tradewinds). One team sets up at the top of every hour for an hour. This event will be raising funds to have speakers continue to hold workshops in WA schools, working with young people to change the stigma around expressing their emotions and help to build emotional muscle. Funds will also go toward mens mental health, with several Bloke's Night and Speak Up, Speak Out events planned this year. Please donate to this very worthy cause - every little bit helps. Together, as a community, we can move mountains.
