BAJI's 15 Year Anniversary Fund #BAJIAT15
BAJI was founded fifteen years ago in Oakland, California as a national advocacy organization for Black migrants. Our founders witnessed how mainstream immigration policy and discourse excluded Black migrants, and failed to realize the various intersections of our multiple identities. Since our founding in 2006, we have grown exponentially and achieved many things including hiring robust teams of organizers, policy experts, attorneys, and more. We have led the national discussion on Black migrant rights. We have published groundbreaking reports, and have become the main source of data on Black migrants. We have advocated in our local communities and on the Hill in Washington, DC. We have fought to build community ties between Black folks throughout our vast diaspora. We have trained and educated a new generation of leaders. Above all, BAJI continues to work toward our collective Black liberation. There is still a lot of work to be done. Black migrant futures matter, and BAJI will be there to support our communities as we fight towards liberation and freedom. As we celebrate our 15th anniversary this year, we invite you to support our work. Donate today to secure our future and commemorate this momentous anniversary.
