HELP Baik Bike Project and Yayasan Movement of Recovery !

Meet Zak and Benjamin, the two senior students from the Green School Bali who have created the Baik Bike Project to make a difference in Mental Health in Indonesia.

From Zak and Benjamin:"Over the past two years, we have both become acutely aware of how many people are suffering from mental health issues, both within our peer group and the wider local community here in Bali. It had us ask two fundamental questions…

1. What has helped us with our mental health?

2. What could we do to help support others?

We identified four pillars in our life that we believe are fundamental to helping us stay mentally healthy: following passions, deep connection with others, service and adventure.

We decided to take each of these pillars and incorporate them into a project that would be of service to the mental health community.

So we are directing our passion for motorcycle mechanics by designing and building a bike from scratch, and then hosting an adventure with a 100-person ride across Bali to bring people together for a camping festival. Within this, we will be connecting with the mental health community, and raising essential funding through donations and auctioning our bike for mental health in Bali and Indonesia.

We have connected with Movement Of Recovery (MOR), an organisation with a mission to provide aid to victims of mental health issues within Indonesia. Their values align with ours and we have directed our project toward fundraising for and with them. We hope to provide financial support for MOR to continue to do what they do best; helping people.

Movement of recovery is the leading NGO of Bali Bersama Bisa, this foundation is a collaboration of several NGOs or communities to promote physical, mental and social well-being with a spirit of inclusiveness. They aim to reduce the stigma surrounding people with mental health issues, disabilities, gender identity issues, and communities that are frequently discriminated against or marginalized by others.

Bali Bisa Bersama has established LISA – a 24-hour Suicide Prevention Helpline. Only $10 USD Donation will keep L.I.S.A. operational for 24 hours !

The LISA Helpline service consists of mental health professionals, the general public, and survivors of mental health issues who mental health professionals have trained. When LISA Helpline was running it was active 24/7 and free of charge. So far the LISA Helpline has helped hundreds of service users who have problems with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, domestic violence problems, and so on.

Our mission is to support the re-launching of Indonesia’s first suicide prevention hotline (L.I.S.A) and (BBBMH) a mental health community space in Bali, to be operational in 2023.

$750 USD Donation will provide an individual facing mental health issues a new start to life through 30 day inhouse rehabilitation while enabling the LISA suicide prevention hotline to save lives ! You can be the difference !
