Bags of Hope for CHKD
About Bags of Hope
Let’s face it, hospitals are a scary place no matter your age. For children, hospitals and doctors are a major source of fear and anxiety, especially for children who have an extended stay. The DeGood Foundation has developed Bags of Hope, a powerful program that brings warmth, love, and fun to children with an extended stay in the hospital. We’ve partnered with The Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk to make this program a reality. Beginning March 2019, all children who are admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) will receive a Bag of Hope from The DeGood Foundation to make their stay more fun and less scary.

Why CHKD?
At The DeGood Foundation, The Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) has a very special place in our hearts. If it had not been for CHKD’s incredible transport and medical teams, our founder, Kyle DeGood would not be here today. We are eternally grateful to CHKD and are honored to be in a position to give back to the hospital and the children in their care. Although our bags are a simple gesture, we hope they will bring many smiles to the children in CHKD’s care.
