Give the Gift of Reading to Kids In Your Community

Do You Back the Blue along with Police Bike Support Group is proud to sponsor the #BadgeswithBooks initiative with the City of Fort Worth Police Department. Through generous donations from members of our community, our officers are able to provide books to children in their neighborhoods during one-on-one interactions. 

As part of this effort, our officer volunteers are encouraged to not only provide a book to a child in their neighborhood but also take a moment to hear about the last book the child read, and to spend a moment reading a portion of that book with the child. Research shows that reading aloud to a child improves literacy and ensures the child is more likely to develop a love of reading on their own.
