Goal
At the St. Clair Butterfly Foundation (SCBF), we believe in the power of healing through expressive arts, mindfulness, and community. Your donation directly supports children, teens, and adults affected by trauma, providing the tools they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
Transform $10,000 into $40,000
A generous donor has issued a 3:1 matching challenge—every dollar you give today will be tripled to help us reach $40,000 by September 22. Your support will enable us to implement year-long SCBF programming and distribute our Trauma Toolkit to 12 schools in Michigan and Florida, impacting 4500 students and 250 educators.
The Issue
Educators often lack the trauma-informed training needed to address the root causes of behavioral issues like anger, defiance, and disengagement in the classroom. These behaviors are often symptoms of deeper psychological turmoil from trauma, which, left unaddressed, impedes learning and well-being.
The Solution
SCBF’s Trauma Toolkit empowers educators and students through a 3-pronged approach that includes trauma-informed training, access to ongoing resources, and expressive arts programming. Our goal is to foster emotional healing, safety, and engagement in schools.
-
Trauma-Informed Training
Our training equips educators to:- Decrease aggressive behaviors
- Deepen their understanding of trauma’s impact
- Provide solutions to engage and empower students
- Ensure emotional and physical safety in the classroom
- Help students rediscover their love of learning
-
SCBF Learning Management System (LMS)
Educators gain access to:- Trauma training video modules to build safe and effective classrooms
- Downloadable resources, expressive arts prompts, weekly tips, and monthly webinars
- Continuing Education Credits (CEC) compliance
-
Butterfly Labyrinth Expressive Arts Programming
This trauma-informed curriculum guides students through a 12-week journey using art, music, writing, mindfulness, and gardening to help them heal and grow. Designed to foster productivity and emotional well-being, it provides:- Art (painting, sculpting, crafting)
- Creative writing (journaling, poetry, stories)
- Gardening (planning, planting, and caring for projects)
- Mindful movement (breath work, meditation)
- Music exploration (drumming, listening)
Your Impact
Your donation fuels our trauma recovery efforts, empowering students and educators alike. Whether by reducing aggressive behaviors, improving academic performance, or helping students rediscover their passion for learning, your contribution creates lasting change.
