The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski, owners and founders of The Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida, and South Dakota. Donald and his wife Elizabeth worked tirelessly to accomplish their dream of opening the animal shelter, but Donald Babinski passed away on August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
It's our mission to rescue and restore abandoned and stray animals, giving each an opportunity for a new life and loving home, through adoption and education.

Thank you for caring for our dear friend Ray’s Golden retrievers Emma and Annie for a few nights 2/20/21. The “girls” saved Ray’s life by keeping him warm on the freezing night when he was in a car accident and then found by police many hours later. Your shelter took great care of the dogs!!! We are celebrating the life of our friend and his dogs.
