B.E. Academy for Girls

Dear B.E. Academy Partners, and Supporters:

In October 2022, Lydia and I had a conversation that would change our lives forever. We discussed the current state of education in our community, our personal trauma as women of color in education, and what we believed was the right solution for our own daughters and girls across the city of Nashville. By the end of that conversation, we knew what we had to do.

Together, we founded B.E. Academy for Girls on January 1, 2023. We have been working non-stop since that day to build a safe, culturally relevant, STEAM-focused school for girls that will empower them to become the wise, confident, talented, young women they are destined to be. 

Our mission is to prepare our girls with the skills, knowledge, and social emotional support they need to pursue a pathway to college, career, or entrepreneurship. Our goal is to nurture their transition from dependent learners to independent thinkers. Our dream is that 20 years from now, girls all over the country will join together in sisterhood and success and say, “B.E. Academy changed my life.”
