The only other queer counsellor at a terrible summer camp in Pennsylvania showed me Autostraddle while I was working there the summer I was 19. Smartphones barely existed (and we weren’t allowed them in the cabins) so I had to read my articles about Ani DiFranco — and recaps of a fascinating-sounding show called The L Word — in the public computer lounge on a 2000s-era desktop. I could tell even as it was happening — my life was never going to be the same. Autostraddle did that!!! And I’ll never stop giving you money because being gay is a PRICELESS GIFT that you gave me!!!!!!!!! (I was already gay but AS really cemented it!)
So grateful for Autostraddle!
