in 2009 I had a choice. I was being let go from a senior executive position in a FTSI100 company. I was considering my options at 45 and I was looking at buying a small aerospace manufacturing business (safe choice, just an extension of my current path) OR I was considering moving to Oakland and reinventing myself through a couple of years of classes at your school. I was already a master hobby woodworker and I was excited by expanding what I could do with glass and metal working. I was hesitant though for two reasons; I was developing severe allergies to exotic wood dust and the change would take me out of my comfort zone. I bought a company in Chatsworth. It was hell and I knew I made the wrong choice. Message to those considering a life change.. safe is not very fulfilling ... At 57 I wasted to many years doing things I really did not want to do.
