We have plenty of food in the U.S. to feed our population but as Americans, we throw away almost 40% of all of our food while over 34 million of our people face hunger. Almost 10% of people in Salt Lake County are food insecure, meaning there is a consistent lack of food to have a healthy life because of their economic situation.
Stone Soup works to rescue food from being wasted and brings it to the populations in Salt Lake City who need it most. We solicit donations from food suppliers for perishable food they would otherwise discard and we ensure it is picked up and delivered before spoilage occurs to our partners who prepare and or serve our underprivileged communities. Food banks and pantries are great suppliers of non-perishable foods but fresh, healthy foods are often in short supply and we help fill that gap.
Please join us this holiday season in providing fresh, healthy food to the hungry in our community by donating money to Stone Soup. We work diligently throughout the year to help end hunger and food insecurity in Salt Lake City.
Stone Soup is a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax-deductible!
