EVERY MOTHER DESERVES DIGNIFIED CARE

For 11 years, AMURTEL Greece has provided a safe space where mothers living in vulnerable conditions in Greece can access care, support and community. Today, together with AMAMÉ Initiative, we are building on this work to strengthen maternal healthcare and develop new, community-led ways of supporting mothers and their babies.

Founded in February 2026 by two long-standing members of AMURTEL Greece, AMAMÉ Initiative is a mother- and community-led organisation working in close partnership with AMURTEL Greece to carry this work forward.

Our shared services include:

• Maternal health and postpartum support
• Hospital accompaniment for antenatal appointments
• Maternal mental health support
• Casework and assistance navigating public healthcare services
• Essential supplies for mothers and babies
• Community activities and a space for mothers to connect, share knowledge and support one another

Through our new hospital accompaniment service, we support mothers in navigating pregnancy care, overcoming language barriers and feeling more informed and confident in their healthcare decisions.
