Andrew's Journey Around the World

Arthritis affects a significant segment of the population, with recent estimates indicating that around 750,000 New Zealanders are living with some form of the disease.

In 2017, I embarked on a journey along the Camino de Santiago, covering about 1,500 kilometres over four months. It was during this time that my passion for travel truly ignited. Upon returning home, I eagerly began planning my next adventure, but soon after, I was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis in both hips.

Fast forward to 2023/24, and after successful surgeries to repair my hips, I am finally ready to set off on my next adventure.

Through my travels I hope to not only shine a light on the struggles faced by those with arthritis, but also to mobilise support for research and prevention strategies.

By donating to Arthritis NZ, you help improve the lives of New Zealanders with arthritis by helping fund education and support services that help patients better manage their condition.
