Andre W. Allen for Peoria City Council At-Large
Andre W. Allen is a very proud native of Peoria and alumni of Peoria Public Schools. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Master of Science in Sports Administration both from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.
Allen has over 6 years of progressive higher education experience, working for both public and private institutions. He is currently the Dean of Students at Methodist College in Peoria, Illinois. He is responsible for all student activities, residential life practices, student conduct, career services, volunteerism and shares deputy Title IX duties.
Allen enjoys participating in a variety civic engagement and volunteer opportunities in his spare time, serving on multiple boards and committees in our community. This past October, he participated in the Greater Peoria Real Men Wear Pink Class of 2018, where he raised over $2800 towards the fight against Breast Cancer.He was recently selected out of more than 150 nominations, as one of Greater Peoria’s top leaders—a member of the 2018 class of 40 Leaders Under Forty sponsored by IBI Magazine.
Andre is married to Jaleesha Allen and the two have a 4 year daughter, Barbie Marie and a 5 month old son Dreyton. With the combination of being a husband, father and native of this great city, Andre has a vested interest in the future of Peoria. He wants all citizens to have equal opportunity to good wages, excellent schools, and safe communities.
His campaign hashtag is #RebootPeoria, as he believes he will be a great/fresh addition to the Peoria City Council, that will intentionally address, but not be limited to the following; strategic economic growth, continued support and improvement of Peoria Public Schools/workforce development, and improving overall city morale.
