SUPPORT COMMUNITY-LED CITIZEN JOURNALISM
The communities iACT partners with have consistently told us there are real barriers to citizen journalism. However, what team members do not lack is a desire to be heard and to determine the narrative and stories being shared about their lives and their communities.
In response, iACT created AMPLIFi, a media initiative designed with and for communities impacted by conflict. At its core, AMPLIFi seeks to break through the main barriers that prevent stories from reaching the global stage: Connectivity, Resources, and Training.
CURRENT PROGRAM NEEDS:
- Funding for story collection (varies by story, includes transportation, meals, etc.)
- Translation funds (ongoing, enables iACT to subtitle interviews in English)
- Citizen Journalist Stipends (each Citizen Journalist is paid a monthly stipend for their work)
- Funding for more trainings on citizen journalism
