Thank you for donating to the construction of our Amphibian Habitat!
At Green Acres, we have a biodiverse area full of amphibians, one of them being the Red Frog (Strawberry Poison Dart Frog). Unfortunately over time, this species has disappeared in certain regions mostly due to development across Panama and needs our help as it is a keystone species. We have three sources ready to donate Red Frogs to Green Acres, but due to our vast size, if we release them directly, the chances of them successfully establishing a population are slim. Our plan consists of constructing an Amphibian Breeding habitat which will be completely planted with bromeliads (a plant that holds water that the frogs will move their babies too). Once constructed, we will introduce 30+ red frogs and allow them to repopulate. When we arrive at about 100 frogs we will begin to move the young out of the structure and set them free in our planted area.
Through your generous donations, we can bring the Red Frog back to Green Acres!
