Allen Morris for Coroner of Georgetown County

My name is Allen Morris, and I am running for the office of Coroner for Georgetown County. I am 31 years old, and a life-long resident of Georgetown County. I am married to my beautiful, hardworking wife, Tracy, and we have two children, Willow (5) and Weldon (1). I was born and raised in Georgetown, and graduated from Georgetown High School in 2006.

In 2011, I graduated from Horry-Georgetown Technical College with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Crime Scene Investigation. After a 135 hour internship with Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office and graduation, I was hired by GCSO as a patrol deputy.  In 2012, I graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy with my Basic Law Enforcement certificate.  In 2013, I joined the Georgetown Police Department as a patrol officer. In 2015, I was promoted to the rank of Criminal Investigator in the Criminal Investigations Division, which is the position that I currently hold.

During my career as a law enforcement officer, I have conducted various death investigations involving homicide, suicide, overdose, neglect, and natural causes. With the position that I currently hold, I investigate violent crimes, including murder, attempted murder, unlawful neglect resulting in homicide, and other violent crimes that occur within the City of Georgetown.  I have completed numerous investigative courses, including Basic Detective at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and Advanced Crime Scene Techniques at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia. Through my years has a deputy, officer, and investigator, I have developed working relationships with Fire, EMS, and other state and local law enforcement agencies. It is my experience that makes me the most qualified candidate for Georgetown County Coroner.

I have been a public servant for most of my adult life, and I want to continue serving the citizens of Georgetown County.  I also want the citizens of Georgetown County to know that I am praying for them during this time of hardship.  I understand campaigning is going to be tough during this hardship, but it will be my job to make sure that you see and hear from me via social media.  Although I am running as a Republican Candidate, I will represent all citizens of Georgetown County.  I look forward to hearing from all of you.
