Alive-In
Launching on August 16th 2021, over the past year Alive in Afghanistan has produced more than 100 stories from 20 provinces. Alive in provides on-the-job training to Afghan reporters from under-represented provinces through the Alive-in Afghanistan project. Our core principles include mandating gender and ethnic parity, because we believe that in order to lift up marginalized voices, the marginalized must be telling their stories, themselves.
AiA currently has 8 reporters and a network of freelancers. 5 of our reporters are female, and 3 of those are the only female reporters currently working in their province.
Your donation goes to cover the wages of our reporters and managing editor, as well supporting costs. If we raise enough funds, we will be able to expand our reporting network, provide more detailed mentoring to the team, and develop their reporting skills over time.
