(All donations to the Houseless Movement are anonymous. Akron Uprising is a publication of the Houseless Movement, a 501(c)(4) social justice organization. Corporations and individuals can anonymously donate and there are no limits to contributions.)
This is how it works: You support the printing costs and homeless people sell it for $1.
This newspaper is a way for homeless people to start their own businesses by selling newspapers.
Every dollar you contribute to this cause goes to printing more papers. The more you donate, the more papers we can print and the more homeless people can sell them.
Additionally, Akron Uprising is a paper dedicated to the people of Akron... the REAL people. The poor, the minorities, the homeless, the addicted. 30% of Akron is black. 24% of Akron lives below the poverty line. 40% of Akron kids live below the poverty line. Who knows how many thousands are addicted to fentanyl and meth and alcohol.
Akron Uprising is a paper for the people.
