Goal

For too long, Alaskans suffering from eating disorders have done so alone and in silence. The Alaska Eating Disorders Alliance (AKEDA) is here to change that as the only organization in the state focusing on solutions for individuals and families experiencing these life-threatening illnesses.

Your financial support enables us to make a real difference and break the silence. We do so by:

  • Training healthcare providers to grow capacity within our local healthcare system to better diagnose and treat individuals closer to home.

  • Offering support groups, so individuals know that they are never alone.

  • Providing resources to connect individuals, family members, and providers to evidence-based, practical resources.

  • Build community awareness about the truths of eating disorders, dispelling pervasive myths and stereotypes.

  • Advocating on behalf of systemic changes that will grow prevention efforts and improve access to care, particularly for underrepresented communities.

Your help is vital, demonstrating your commitment to helping break the silence about eating disorders across Alaska. Your donations will allow us to engage in our educational support programming throughout 2025, and lay a foundation for our ongoing strategic growth. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will make a tremendous difference in the lives of others. Every gift counts.

If you prefer to send a check or make a donation through a Donor Advised Fund or IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution, donations may be mailed to AKEDA, 440 Oceanview Drive, Anchorage, AK 99515.

AKEDA's Mission: To provide help and inspire hope by engaging our diverse communities in education, advocacy and support for Alaskans affected by eating disorders.

AKEDA is a 501c3 charitable donation, EIN 843178623. Your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
