ADOAA Annual Campaign
ADOA is the most common hereditary optic atrophy disease. However, there's very little research on the disease to help those living with it's many debilitating symptoms. The core of our mission is to raise funds to help support Autosomal Dominant Optic Atrophy research so those living with this disease will someday experience a therapy and cure.
There is currently no cure for Autosomal Dominant Optic Atrophy (ADOA). Since this disease deteriorates the optic nerve, visual aids such as glasses or contacts will not help improve one's vision impairment. Management generally consists of regular eye exams, including measurement of visual acuity, color vision, visual fields and optical coherence tomography (OCT). Low-vision aids in individuals with severely decreased visual acuity can be helpful.
Help us find a cure for children suffering from this rare disease.
