Desde hace más de cinco décadas, la Asociación de Bibliotecas Universitarias, de Investigación e Institucionales del Caribe (ACURIL) ha sido una red vibrante de cooperación y desarrollo profesional que une a bibliotecarios, archivistas y museólogos de toda la región. A través de su labor, ACURIL ha promovido la educación, la preservación del patrimonio cultural y el acceso equitativo a la información, fortaleciendo el papel de las instituciones del conocimiento como pilares del progreso social en el Caribe. 

Cada año, ACURIL celebra su conferencia anual, un espacio de encuentro y aprendizaje que impulsa la innovación, la solidaridad y la excelencia profesional.

En 2026, Puerto Rico tendrá el honor de ser la sede de este gran evento regional, bajo el inspirador lema: “Bibliotecas, Archivos y Museos a la Vanguardia: Defensa, Innovación y Sostenibilidad". 

Del 7 al 11 de junio de 2026, especialistas y líderes de bibliotecas, archivos y museos del Caribe, las Américas y otras regiones del mundo se reunirán en un foro de diálogo, inspiración y colaboración en el Hotel Caribe Hilton de San Juan.

For more than five decades, the Association of Caribbean University, Research, and Institutional Libraries (ACURIL) has been a vibrant network of cooperation and professional development that brings together librarians, archivists, and museologists from across the region. In 2026, Puerto Rico will have the honor of hosting this major regional event, under the inspiring theme: “Libraries, Archives, and Museums on the Frontline: Advocacy, Innovation, and Sustainability.”
