Aces Wildlife Rescue
Who are we?
Aces Wildlife Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and protection of Belize's native wildlife and their critical habitats. Located on Ambergris Caye, Aces is the only wildlife rescue on the Cayes, working with various species such as crocodiles, seabirds, iguanas, boa constrictors, turtles, anteaters, raccoons, and countless species of birds on their migratory route. We provide 24/7 free-of-charge emergency response to injured, ill, or orphaned wildlife, as well as human-wildlife conflict resolution achieved through scientific research, community outreach and education, promoting habits for harmonious human-wildlife coexistence.
The Challenge
Aces receives no government funding and relies on the generosity of donors and sponsors to cover costs required to run the non-profit organization. With more people utilizing our services and reaching out to get wildlife help on Ambergris Caye and the surrounding areas, the more the expenses add up. We are busier than ever, responding to more requests for human-wildlife conflict management and more emergency rescue calls than all years prior. Coupled with the economic collapse that has occurred during COVID-19 pandemic, we have been forced to operate on a fraction of funds as is usually required. With finances being depleted and our expenses increasing, we are in need of crucial support to get back on our feet and continue moving forward with our mission.
How you can help
Your donation makes our wildlife and environmental conservation work possible. With your help we can continue to provide rescue services, excellent specialized veterinary care, rehabilitation, housing, transportation, education and outreach, giving wildlife a second chance at freedom and the community a better understanding of how to harmoniously live and grow with nature.
