Since 2008, A Good Start has been serving young children and their families in the Columbus, Ohio are who live with multiple poverty risk factors.  Our programs include:  a six week free summer literacy program for children who are entering Kindergarten; Family Literacy Workshop Series for A Good Start Summer participants; free school age tutoring during the school year; family story hours at neighborhood parks and gardens.  Our Summer Program features pre-professional teachers (Teaching Fellows) from Ohio Wesleyan University's Education Department, Assistant Teachers placed with the program through the Godman Guild Summer Teen Employment Program;  collaboration with community artists and professionals to provide adult family members with home literacy coaching skills; partnership with many other local human service agencies to provide families with assistance and what they need; high quality, rigorous and engaging curriculum for all children regardless of experiences.  Please give in the way that you feel most impactful...
