A Call for Donations: A former Toni's House resident lost his family home in a fire

Dear Toni's House Family, 

It's with sadness that we share some tragic news of a member of our Toni's House community. 

Donnie lived at the TH Men's House for around 18 months before he was ready to take the next steps in his recovery journey. It was just last week that he moved out with our well wishes, excited for his future. A few days later, he arrived at his family's home and saw it up in flames.  

He ran into the house and quickly assisted his dad, niece and family dog to escape then attempted to put the fire out. Unfortunately, the flames were already engulfing large parts of their home, including their entire living room and kitchen. Luckily everyone OK, but Donnie was hospitalized due to excessive smoke inhalation.

Donnie's parents are seniors and have been married nearly 40 years. They lived in their house for 36 years. It's the home where he grew up. Now retired and on a fixed income, this disaster is not only traumatic but also an overwhelming financial expense for them. 

We are calling on our whole community to contribute funds for Donnie's family to rebuild after this devastating loss. Every donation - large and small - is needed and appreciated, and all gifts made on this page will go directly to the family.
