EVERY MINUTE, A CHILD DIES DUE TO WATER-RELATED DISEASES. THE VISION 2020 CAMPAIGN GIVES ACCESS TO THE BASIC HUMAN ESSENTIALS: CELAN DRINKING WATER & BASIC EYE HEALTHCARE. THE VISION TO SEE THE THIRST FOR CLEAN WATER.

One of the luxuries of living in the US is our access to clean water. Recent incidents in Flint, Michigan as well as surrounding cities is forcing us to have the discourse as we now know that this issue is closer to home than we think.

The Rescue Project recently conducted its 2nd annual Vision 2020 Benefit Ball to benefit the Vision 2020 Campaign on December 12th, but funds are needed annually all year round.   $100,000 was the goal of the night of the #Vision2020Ball (Donations are still being accepted to meet this goal) to go towards aiding thousands of people by providing hundreds of wells and sanitary systems in two communities, one in the Volta Region of Ghana, West Africa and the other in Haiti. 

The Vision 2020 Campaign aims to raise $20M by the year 2020, with the proceeds going to aid over 200 million individuals in need all over the world. The main goals of the Vision 2020 Campaign are to provide clean water and sanitation in developing areas, while also ensuring healthy eyesight and basic eye care becoming the standard all across the world as well as training and supplying medical personnel and supplies. The campaign joins the fight for clean water by creating awareness while building and installing wells, filtration systems, irrigation systems, latrines in the selected areas that need it most across the globe. The Vision 2020 Campaign is already well underway in revolutionizing something the rest of the world takes for granted; clean water, proper sanitation and basic eye care, all things that most developing countries are desperately in need of.
