Adopt-A-Class and K-12 Programs

We are pleased to share that despite the evolving circumstances of the pandemic, our signature Adopt-A-Class program, which thanks to donors like you has provided free field trips to the Museum and outreach education to students throughout Southwest Florida for nearly 20 years, will return for the 2021-2022 academic year.

To offer the most flexibility during a period of continued adjustments in Covid-19 protocols, this year we are proud to offer schools a choice of four program formats for K-12 students: guided field trips to the Museum, self-guided field trips, Mollusks on the Move mobile outreach, and the Mollusks Online virtual class. Thanks to the Museum’s magnificent new aquariums, our offerings are now more engaging and accessible to a wider range of ages. All programs are customized to grade levels from kindergarten through high school.

Adopt-A-Class ensures that students in our region – many of whom have never visited the beach – have access to the lessons and experiences of the shells, marine life, and conservation education we offer. Your gift makes this possible regardless of a school or students’ ability to pay, and the Museum will prioritize allocation of Adopt-A-Class gifts to Title 1 schools*. Donors will see directly the impact of their giving in the heart-warming personal thank-yous from students and photos of their visits they receive.

Thank you for your support!
