Goal
Every time a dog is adopted, we celebrate-- for the dog who was rescued and for the family who will be changed forever with their new family member. I've been fostering with Labs&More (LAM) for a few years, and while it's hard to say good-bye, there's nothing (like NOTHING) better than seeing a dog and new owner meet. Take Mikey...
"Mikey" now Cowboy
This big huggable boy was rescued from a shelter, a day away from being put down, when LAM rescued him. He stayed with me for a few months and after a few weeks, learned to trust that people were an ok lot, and sleeping on the couch was MUCH better than a concrete floor. He had a few meets, where he let me know he was NOT happy. Then came Emma. As soon as she walked in, he went up to her, tail wagging and I knew this was it. Love at first site. She's had Mikey, now Cowboy, for just 2 months, and they are inseparable! They're even recognized around town. Even her best friend gave her a personalized ring with "COWBOY" on it. This all possible with the work of Labs and More.
And of course there is my gang--Ruby and Emi, both rescued by LAM from the streets of Tijuana.
RUBY
The cool thing about them is it seems they get it--they get they came from a rough patch and now are living large. So when a new foster comes to stay with us, they are awesome foster siblings. A former pastor of mine shared that he told his rescued pup "You've been saved by grace, so we're going to extend the same grace to these rescues!" Amen and Amen.
Right now, we've got Immanuel who, based on his scars, has had a tough life. But LAM rescued him, and he's with us recuperating from surgery. He's awesome! Here he is getting some much deserved love from his pal "Uncle Brian"...I can't wait to see who will adopt him--he'll be a total blessing.
