Goal

10 years ago I went to an event looking for a petite (35lb) white or golden female mutt…. And came home with Bean! Since then we’ve fostered almost 50 dogs, have driven countless miles to and from vet visits, and have served as Social Media Director for the past 3 years. What makes Labs and More different from other rescues is they pull dogs based on need, not breed. A puppy with parvo given 3 hours before being euthanized? We send someone to get him. A dog hit by a car and in need of surgery that the shelter can’t pay for/care for so they’re about to be euthanized? Off we go! A puppy beaten so badly by their owner they need 3 surgeries to heal? We’ll take her. And that doesn’t include the countless dogs with kennel cough, skin issues, tvt, and other treatable issues that we make sure get treated. Our adoption fees cover about 1/3 of our hard costs to rescue each dog. So we rely on fundraisers like the Mutt Run to raise the rest.

Labs and More Dog Rescue is San Diego’s fastest growing and most active dog rescue organization. Our volunteers work to rescue over 2,000 dogs this year. We find them forever homes in and around San Diego. In just 12 short years, our volunteers have worked to give hope to over 13,000 rescue dogs in need of a chance at life. We rescue large dogs and mixed breed dogs often with past medical trauma from high kill shelters. We help pregnant mothers, puppy litters, seniors, and otherwise homeless, discarded dogs. We give refuge and relief to those forgotten dogs that with medical attention, love & training will become the loyal companions they are meant to be. Often, these rescued dogs were on their last day of life in a shelter, on the streets, or abandoned by their owners. Labs and More Dog Rescue has rescued more than 12,000 dogs since our inception in 2011.
