Thank you for participating in the 2023 4th Annual NALZS Palz Campaign to help bring a zoo and aquarium to our community. If you have come to this page, we are sure that you are extremely excited and proud to be a part of this endeavor because you probably have as much passion for preserving wildlife through conservation, research, and education as we do. This society is committed to doing that here in North Alabama. Zoos and Aquariums bring an awareness, appreciation, and respect for all animals.
The North Alabama Zoological Society is currently working to bring a full-size, modern, AZA accredited zoo and aquarium to North Alabama. This is more than an idea. We were established in 2019, we have 20+ people on the Board of Directors and 40+ volunteer staff members currently working on research, conservation, and education projects in the community. We have spent the last almost 4 years building our brand, expanding our awareness, creating our outreach programs, fostering partnerships within the community, and engaging land owners for a potential home. We hope to be able to make some announcements soon.
Our Mission is to be an organization committed to creating a world-class zoo and aquarium all the while connecting the communities and visitors of North Alabama with the world’s wild places and wildlife; being a standard of wildlife conservation, research, action, and education; and inspiring a better tomorrow.
The North Alabama Zoological Society promises to never stop working towards bringing a zoo and aquarium to our community. In the meantime, we will continue conservation and education activities promoting the importance of wildlife and wild places. We are excited about expanding our 2023 Summer Nature Camp programs and our High School NALZS Bio-Exploration Science Teams in the Fall 2023.
Please consider giving to this cause. Every gift makes a difference - no matter the amount. All gifts bring us a step closer to the opening day of the zoo and aquarium, and support our efforts within the North Alabama community.
