4th Annual Dancing with the Doctors Fundraising Campaign

Hello! I am so excited to be involved this year in the 4th Annual Dancing with the Doctors Benefiting the Maya Dronca Foundation.  The Maya Dronca Foundation is dedicated to advancing pediatric cancer research and accelerating life-saving treatments. In 1993, my niece Ashley was diagnosed with AML. I was at the very early stages of my medical education but recall the feeling of helplessness as treatment options were exhausted and a vibrant little girl quickly declined and unfortunately died. My husband and I continue to look for opportunities to help other families facing these difficult times, and last year we were introduced to the Maya Dronca Foundation and its excellent work through the Dancing with the Doctors program. It is an honor for me to participate this year to help continue this Foundation's efforts. As a cardiologist dedicated to caring for patients with congenital heart disease, I recognize the importance of raising awareness and advancing research endeavors for pediatric patients facing life altering diagnoses, as we cannot just treat our pediatric patients as "tiny adults".
